With a vocal style reminiscent of Aurora at her most uplifting, FREE boasts a stirring melody and a rousing, personal and incredibly effective chorus. Listening to FREE is akin to reading a joyous, righteous manifesto on shaking off the emotional and other chains that bind us.
GLVES (pronounced Gloves) is a Kaurareg, Fijian First Nations alt-pop artist from lutruwita (Tasmania), based in Magandjin (Brisbane). Blending emotive storytelling, layered vocals, and immersive electronic textures, her Blaktronica sound is cinematic and bold, yet tender, music that lives between worlds.
She has performed at Dark Mofo, Splendour in the Grass, Ministry of Sound Classical, Yabun, and Blak Day Out 2025, and supported Icelandic artist Ásgeir in Brisbane. Producing her own surreal, futuristic visuals, she has earned multiple awards and festival selections for her music videos, including her latest release, Time, which has been nominated and officially selected in multiple international music video festivals in 2025.
In 2023, she was commissioned to create the Australian Women in Music Awards theme song, and her track Heal Me is synced in the Brisbane Festival 2025 advertising campaign.
GLVES debut EP 'Belonging' will be released on vinyl on Oct 10, pre-orders are live now here and can be pre-saved here.
The big reverby drums and GLVES’ siren-call vocal make this one hit like you’re coming up for air from beneath the rocky waves. You gasp and breathe in every last particle of the life-giving good stuff.
